The shortener can only meter a tap. Most "my dashboard is dead" mail is a placement problem, not a tracking problem.
You wrote "full video here" and dropped six codes under it. Nobody knows which door to open, so they open none. One sentence. One URL. That is the whole skill.
Say what they get
The line above the URL has one job: name the destination in human language.
Bad: "Link" / "Click here" / "Important"
Less bad: "The spreadsheet from this video" / "Full post, no login wall" / "Download page for the pack I mentioned"
If you cannot finish that sentence, you do not have a reason to shorten anything.
Put it where the thumb already is
- Telegram / YouTube / newsletter body: yes
- Channel description and Instagram bio: almost no
- A QR on a poster: only if the poster already has the same sentence
Telegram and YouTube have their own notes. The shared rule: one link, next to the reason, not a stack of six codes.
One hop
kool.ink/CODE should land on the thing you named. No second shortener, no "choose your mirror," no survey.
People who bounce on the five-second page were never going to convert. People who bounce because hop two is another countdown will not come back, and they will tell the group the channel is junk.
Do not ask for the click
"Please click to support me" trains the wrong audience and the wrong filters. If the destination is useful, say what it is. If it is not useful, do not post it.
Buying clicks is worse. We throw away a lot of that, and what remains is not a reader you can email tomorrow.
Check the right number
Compare taps in the host app to KooLink valid views. A big gap usually means previews (especially chat apps) or you are looking at impressions of the post, not link taps.
At $3.50 / 1,000 valid views, you need volume. A clearer sentence on three old posts often beats a new shortener.
A small edit checklist
Before you publish:
- Signed in when you created the code
- Destination matches the sentence
- URL is on its own line
- You would paste the raw destination in the same spot
Then leave it alone for a week. Refreshing your own link is not QA.
