Privacy Policy

1. Data we collect

Account data. When you sign up we collect your email address and any name you provide. If you sign in with Google or GitHub, we receive your name, email, and profile picture from that provider.

Link data. We store the short links you create and their destinations.

View data.When someone clicks a short link, we record the time, an approximate country (from their IP), the device and browser type, the referring site, and a hashed, network-level IP prefix (for example "203.0.113.0/24"). We never store full IP addresses of visitors.

2. Why we collect it

To operate the service (shorten and redirect links), to count views for estimated earnings, to filter fraudulent or bot traffic, and to send transactional emails (welcome, account security). We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.

3. Third parties

Data is processed by our infrastructure providers: hosting and database, an email provider (Resend), and — for OAuth sign-in — Google and GitHub. Each processes data under its own privacy terms.

4. Your rights

You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time by contacting us at hello@kool.ink. Where required by law (e.g. GDPR), we respond within the applicable timeframe.

5. Retention

We keep account and link data for as long as your account exists. View data is kept to calculate earnings and is aggregated; you can delete your account and its data at any time by contacting us.
